2019 Staff Award and Robert Penn Warren Center Newsletter

On Friday, October 11, 2019 – I missed the College of Arts & Sciences all staff meeting to stay in the office to finish printing event posters for upcoming lectures and exhibitions. I was also waiting to see if I needed to drive to the airport to pick up my father, who was due to fly into Nashville from Guam.

On Tuesday, October 15, 2019 – I was presented with the 2019 College of Arts & Sciences in Humanities Staff Excellence Award.  !!!!

It’s been a great month so far. I’m still experiencing an uplifting kick in my step and a deep humbleness that is refreshing. My nomination was put forward by the faculty here and compiled into a beautiful letter submitted to the Dean John Greer, Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences at Vanderbilt.

If I had attended the meeting on October 11, I would have been present when my name was announced for this award. I learned not to miss all staff meetings. Ha!

Today, November 6, 2019 – I was included in the Robert Penn Warren Center Newsletter email to the university.  Many thank you’s to Terry Tripp, the Robert Penn Warren Center Activities Coordinator, for reaching out and inviting me to answer some questions!
