New work

Landlocked Island: Family Archive, 2024, artist book

I finally managed to produce an editioned artist book using the scans of the Landlocked Island: Family Archive drawings.  This book was edition in five. The book is currenlty on view in Southern Highland Craft Guild exhibition of Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts. It will travel to Gatlinburg for the 2024 Instructor exhibition at Arrowmont. One of the edition will be on view in an upcoming exhibition at Catapult Creative House in Cape Girardeau, MO and into the personal collections of my sisters and parents.

Research based drawings

I worked on three new ink drawings for an upcoming exhibition.  Based on research and learning of the involvement of my family in the fight for self-determination of the Republic of Palau.

Historical Book Project

I’ve also started a new project of book binding that develop through my continuous research and collection of written materials (PDF files).  I’ve started taking the digitized files of documents pertaining to Palau, Palauan history, and/or Micronesia and printing them and binding them into books.  I’ve discovered I find reading long texts difficult on a screen.  I’m producing hard copies in the form of books for my personal library and as art objects.
