Bookbinding Workshop at Buchanan Arts
The weekend of April 22-24, 2022, I had the opportunity of leading a bookbinding workshop with Buchanan Arts, the newest community arts center in Nashville. I hung out with two students for four (3 hours each) sessions gover over stab binding, strap/tape binding, and coptic binding.
We listened to music (Ingrid Michaelson seemed to be my go to for these situations), we talked about about possibilities of other materails that could be used in binding books, and by the second and final day the studens were bringing in materials from home to use.
Collectively, I think we bound around 20 books over the weekend.
