We Count: First Time Voters to open in Conte Community Gallery
So big update for the We Count exhibition!
Due to the Covid-19 epidemic and the lockdowns in Nashville (beginning in March) the decision to proceed with this exhibition in a virtual format was made. This was the only option that allowed the show to exist in some form. The other choice was the cancellation the program entirely. I’m so thankful that the Frist Art Museum team quickly developed a beautiful virtual exhibition presented studio visits with the artists and statements about the works.
As of today, approx. 9000 virtual visitors have visited the exhibition and counting.
As the city and the world start planning re-openings and bouncing between phases of exiting lockdowns, the Frist Art Museum has made a new decision. The works will be installed in the Conte Community Gallery – as originally planned and will be on view to museum visitors beginning July 31, 2020 and will close on January 3, 2021. The virtual exhibition will remain online and accessible as a companion resource. I am over the moon happy the show will be installed and welcoming museum guests in person!
